I LOVE the word SHAG!!!!

I am not talking about carpet either! I love the British and their flare for words. I love the word SHAG!!!! SHAG! SHAG! SHAG!

I have always loved this word and would enjoy incorporating into my everyday life. I am sure you could use it many different ways. I know for sure that my husband would like for me use the original meaning of course. "Honey, wanna shag?"

I love this word! So instead of thinking about green 70's carpet when you hear shag, use it for other things. Those British are bloody AWESOME! I have decided my next husband will be British or my kids have to marry a British man/woman when the time comes.

Right now I am visioning Mr. Darcy (the one from the Keira Knightley movie NOT the one from the BBC mini series) whispering in my hear "Wanna shag?". ~swoon~ Oh wait! It's gone, Austin Powers just popped in my head. Yeah BABY! Now that is definitely NOT Mr. Darcy. (Matthew Macfadyen)

Not to change the shag subject but did anyone catch the Coco Chanel movie on Lifetime? I loved it!!!! I want to find Coco Chanel books now to read more about her and Boy. I am sure the movie was tweaked quite a bit from the actual version. I do know Boy wasn't as handsome in real life like the actor that played him. It is always that way! HA HA!

We just finished watching Long Way Down. Really good series! If you can find this, watch it! You will not be disappointed!

Okay, enough shag talk. Enough TV talk. Okay maybe not enough shag talk....oh honey???????

Have you watched Waitress?

~full of spoilers~

We watched this movie last night. I enjoyed it EXCEPT the ending.

Yes, I know that they really couldn't end up together. I had hoped they would though. I thought it was really sweet when she was telling him that he was her best friend. Then they made the pie together. Then old Joe giving her a fresh start.

My husband said once in the movie that they both were married. Yes, they were BUT they had found love in each other. Anyway...

In watching the credits we noticed the movie was dedicated to the woman who wrote, directed and starred in the movie. So HB googled and we realized she had been murdered. How AWFUL!! It seems like I remember it being on the news.

We played Scrabble and my HB won. I want a rematch tonight.

Things I have watched/listened to this week.

I added these to my Amazon list to the left if you want to check them out.

Watched:

Mad Men -- We finished Season 1 this week. The 2nd season starts this month. It is on AMC. Check it out. I promise you will not be disappointed.

The Piano -- I really like this movie. It is a nice love story. Well, maybe nice isn't the right word to use. She did lose a finger. We saw them naked. I had forgot about the naked scenes. Glad my kids were not around.

Army Wives -- The new season is on Lifetime. I like this show but wouldn't miss it if I stopped watching it. Now that I have found Mad Men, I like that show better.

Listened To:

Damien Rice -- He is the man to listen to if you are in a funk or even out of a funk. 9 Crimes is my favorite song these days.

Madonna -- Hard Candy. I am debating if I am going to buy tickets to her Atlanta Show in November. If only I liked the CD better I wouldn't have doubt. Now if only she would have a greatest hits tour. I would be all over it. Following her from city to city. Dye my hair blond and buy a corset. ha ha You think I kid. I do not. :) MADONNA ROCKS!

DJ Shadow -- Is in the CD player.

Moms Supporting Moms

The meeting I went to was very nice. It was nice meeting other moms that understood what I had to say. I look forward to the next meeting.

I really suggest any person going through postpartum depression to find a support group.

I have received some really nice comments. Thank you for your support.

Things around here are quiet. Just the way I like it. Both babies are asleep and my two oldest aren't here. My husband is doing manly things as I sit here watching a rerun of Seinfeld.

Has anyone seen The Hulk? I want to try and see it soon. That and Hell Boy 2. They both look pretty entertaining.

Ha ha, I actually know someone who watches that Tila Tequila show. They were making fun of it on The Soup the other night. Then my sister called to see when it comes on. GASP!! ~shaking head~ I still love you miss.

Okay, guess I'll make something to eat.

Day ? On Zoloft

I forgot what day I am on. Yes, I know I could count back and figure it out if I was inclined too. As you can tell I am not. I have been busy here and really feeling crummy.

I actually got dressed in REAL clothes, NOT PAJAMAS, yesterday and left the house. Grocery shopping. The house was empty of anything edible. Well anything GOOD that was edible. I made a pretty simple menu for the week and made my list. Lots of veggies, meatloaf, lasagna and tacos with my homemade guacamole. Well, it's HIS recipe but I will make it. ~A quick and easy tip for FAST tasty tacos. Buy a couple cooked chicken breasts where ever they sell them. Just take the meat off the bone and add it to your onions, peppers and insert favorite taco fillings here. Then enjoy.~ I read that tip in a magazine long ago and thought it brilliant. I love anything that makes cooking for a family easier.
Okay, back to leaving the house. By the time we got to Earth Fare of course it was time to nurse the baby. It is always that way. So I used my handy dandy wrap and nursed her while I shopped! No joke. I was able to maneuver her into the wrap so she could nurse and I could throw things in the cart at the same time. I am down like that I suppose.

It was a bit too much for me though. I had to take a rest when we got home. No biggie though.

Then add company coming over yesterday from out of town with their two kids. ~twitch~ No, it was a great visit. I was just already in a mood and didn't feel well before they showed up.

Ugh, I lost my train of thought. I hate it when I do that. It's like "bright shiny object" and I am lost all of a sudden. I can blame it on the new baby sucking me dry of any brain cells I may have left.

Oh, a movie I watched last night. A Love Song For Bobby Long. Something like that. I got sucked into watching in on the IFC channel while I was channel surfing last night. It was a really good movie. I don't think it got great reviews but I rather enjoyed it. The soundtrack sounded pretty good. One song is called "Different Stars". I think that is one we really like. Check it out. You might like it too. The movie and the soundtrack.

I must go...

Michelle In Real Life

Hello! We watched Dan In Real Life last night. I really really like Steve!!! I am not sure if I liked this movie though. How about 1 Thumb Up. :)

OMGoodness!?!?!?!? Lucky Otter was awesome yesterday! HB got the special burrito and loved it. I made my own and of course loved it! Spinach wrap, black beans, rice, cheese, garlic, caramelized onions, roasted potatoes and MANGO SALSA! YUMMMMMMYYYYY!!! I already want another one. I was telling Lil O we could make them at home but they just wouldn’t be as good as LO’s.

I still haven’t heard from my sis and her “Passion Party”. No telling what happened with a room full of women and toys everywhere! I mean “bath products”. ~blush~

~BTW, it took my sis 1 whole hour to call me–to tell me she found the quilt pictures.~

My MJ emailed me yesterday. She is planning on coming up to see the new baby and help me. We just have to get a date down. It really depends on when this little girl makes her grand entrance! She has like 7 weeks and 2 days left to grow. Not that I am counting. Okay, I am counting. I even have a countdown clock set up! I am just looking forward to seeing her and holding her after all this time.

I guess I’ll stop rambling and get up and put the roast in the crock to cook all day. Have a lovely Sunday!!!

I am married to Danny Devito?

I was in parts of my dream last night and he had the softest lips. I know I am sleep deprived or catching the flu. I haven’t seen or thought about Danny Devito in forever. Has he even been in any recent movies?

Lil O has the flu. Aching, fever, loss of appetite, cough, sneezing, etc…

It all started Wednesday afternoon when she woke up saying her back hurt. Then yesterday morning it came on QUICKLY! I talked her into going back to bed around 930ish am and that is where we stayed all day, all afternoon and all night. She was in and out of sleep. I held her most of the time. Except when I tried to sneak out to make a bathroom run and find something to eat. It just ended up waking her up and I’d just crawl back in bed. I spent lots of time reading my Bible, working on my cross stitch project and thinking.

I don’t see how someone could want to stay in bed all day—my body is so sore from yesterday. We had the portable DVD player in bed with us and I watched Season 2 of The Muppet’s, Scooby-Doo and Maisy. To which if I see anytime soon AGAIN I will start to pull my hair out. I knew I should have had HB stop by Blockbuster and rent some DIFFERENT DVD’S!

Anyway…I hope that everyone has a wonderful day. I am going to hold my baby all day and continue to pray that I do not get the flu. I already spoke to my OB yesterday and was told to call as soon as I knew something so they could keep watch over me.

Hey Hi Hello :)

Good Sunday morning. I am just sitting here enjoying a moment. You know, that moment of silence with people still in bed and you can actually think for a moment. The calm before the storm. I haven’t posted in a week so I wanted to catch up.

I went to the doctor and found out I had gained 12 pounds since my December appointment. Well, I know where it went:

newbellypic1

My belly looks like a road map. But that is okay, I earned every single stretch mark I have and will get. I go this coming week for my sugar test and Rhogam shot. Exciting eh? They have already scheduled another ultrasound for March to look at our growing baby girl. She is very active. Loves to be talked to. Loves when the kids talk to her for sure. Plus, she loves the occasional game of “Tag”.

I did go to Babies R Us this past week with my mamaw and great aunt. It was so much fun. My mamaw bought the baby a new bed–that will go in our room of course. I bought an all PINK bassinet for the living room area. Lil O found the softest PINK baby blanket for her baby sister. I already have it washed and Lil O has it in the bassinet waiting for her. ADORABLE! There wasn’t much to register for. I added a swing, bouncie seat, something for the bathtub, diaper stacker and a 1 year calendar to our Registry. They have a new organic brand at Babies R Us. LOVE IT!!!!!! So that is what I will be using. All I have to buy is the changing table I want to use. They do not have it in the store, only available on-line it says. It’s prefect for what we need. The top is the changing table and below is 3 drawers I can use for storage of all those baby clothes I have from Lil O. After all that baby shopping we took Lil O to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. She had a blast and well my mamaw and great aunt did too. ~I already reserved to have O’s birthday party there in March.~ (Jennifer & Christina you should come too, since it is your birthday too.)

I started the new baby a soft PINK sweater this week.

I am working on the body part but it is beside the bed and there is still a sleeping husband in it. :)

There was no school on Friday so I took all 3 kids to see the new Veggie Movie. We had so much fun. Lil O enjoyed it so much!! And the POPCORN! She keeps asking now when we are going to the movies again. I see that as a regular request now. :)

I am still dealing with a kidney stone. YUCKY!!

Yes, I made a menu for the week ahead but am too lazy to get it. I do know meatloaf, chicken, salmon patties and lots of fresh veggies are on it. I already made my mamaw’s homemade sloppy joe recipe the other day. YUMMY!

HB bought a great new cheese book yesterday with some awesome looking recipes. I am going to try those next week. We love CHEESE in this house. Real cheese that is. LOL I’ll post them if we love them.

As you can tell, I have been very busy. Not to mention the “nesting” phase I told you about. Oh, I did get O’s memory book up to date as well. I love having a list and checking things off. We almost have O’s play area fixed for her. We put down her foam alphabet mat the other day and she was really tickled with that.

Enough talk about me and my family. I wish everyone a lovely Sunday with their family. I always make homemade pancakes on Sunday when everyone is awake. Bye Bye

Sick Baby and Lord Of The Rings.

Busy here. H came back from camp with a cold. Hence why lil O has a cold. She is all snotty and using me for Kleenex. TMI, I know. LOL ~Lil O is the snotty one today not H~

We watched the Simpson movie. Not much to brag about IMPO. It was umm like an hour too long. And seeing a cartoon penis is disturbing in a way!

My best friend Mary Jane (and her cutie husband) came by Sunday for a BONUS visit! They live near DC and usually stay here when they visit. This trip they were with his family having the family vacation. So they camped in tents and played tourists in Asheville.

I also bought TINKERBELL fabric to make another quilt. I bought 5 different colors for it. I took a picture but too lazy and snot covered to find it and post. I will later on. (I got most of the squares cut last night.)

My Great Aunt had shoulder surgery yesterday so I sat with my mamaw during that. She came home today and resting rather well. She had a nasty fall 3 weeks ago and did some damage to her shoulder. :(
But now she can recover in time. Months and months of time.

I just got through watching the last of The Lord of the Rings. My favorite of the three. I always cry like a baby during it. The singing, the music, the scenery and lets not forget the end when they KISS!!!! I even watched the ending twice today! I am such a sissy. LOL

I hope that everyone is well and surviving the heat. :)

Lets Play Catch Up

Hello everyone that reads my blog. ~waving~

I have been busy to say the least. I posted a picture from the goodies from my little container garden on my back porch. It is just lovely. I am having so much fun with it. I am going to cook the zucchini and green beans tonight. And slice the juicy tomato. I am even going to use my salad greens and cucumber for a salad!

Saturday we took the kids bowling. H’s new BF came along too. He’s a nice young boy. I met his father and they are ‘good’ people. So I am okay with her talking to him and such. We sat around and bowled, played a few games and munched from the BA Menu. They had tator tots on the menu! I LOVE TATOR TOTS!! They should be on every menu! LOL

Then HB took H & B2 to see the new Harry Potter. Me and Lil O stayed at home and packed. They didn’t tell me anything about the movie because I want to see it myself. They did say it was GREAT! But so far they all have been. I wish I had the patience to read the books. Not only do I not have it I don’t have the time as well.

Sunday we got up and of course I was frantic closing the suitcase and making sure nothing was forgot about. Yanno like hats, O’s blanket, extra pacifiers, tennis shoes (TO WHICH B2 ONLY HAD ONE CHORE–PACK HIS TENNIS SHOES AND HE FORGOT!) sunscreen, snacks, toys, and bathroom things. I managed to get everything ready and in the car so when HB was done watching the tour we could leave. My sis and her family showed up and we hit the road. Well after filling up 2 cars with gas and stopping by Green Life we hit the open road. Until we had to stop and pee and then stop and get lunch. LOL

We were headed to the NC ZOO. The plan was to check in the hotel at 3. Let the 5 kids play in the pool all afternoon and order in. That was pretty much how it went except the heated outdoor pool wasn't heated at all. We played for a bit then went to our room. The men went out and found food and we ate in the room. Then we hung out talking and watching TV until bedtime.

We woke up to rain. Got everyone ready and packed up the cars. Had breakfast and then drove to the zoo. We had a wonderful time. I really love that Zoo!!! It was wonderful seeing all these great animals. I took 186 pictures. I will post only a few.

This is your first glimpse in the zoo. BEAUTIFUL!

NC Zoo

I love Gorillas!

NC Zoo 2

Nap Time already?

NC Zoo 3

NC Zoo 4

NC Zoo 5

They had lots of Elephants.

NC Zoo 6

NC Zoo 7

NC Zoo 8

Polar Bears.

NC Zoo 9

That is only a small part of our day.

We came home after that and then the usual unpacking and baths and etc….

We got up Tuesday and the kids wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese again. We had a great time. Pizza and games!

H & B2 went to their dads when he got off work. So last night was the first quiet night I have had in some time. (I won’t mention the 2 hour nap I took when we got home from eating and playing.)

Today I am working on laundry. PILES OF LAUNDRY! I promised myself I am going to work on B2’s quilt when Lil O takes her nap.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful week. I printed out school supply lists to hit Target this week while they are having their back to school sale!

Bye Bye :)

A Flea Market, Blood, Shepherds Pie and Homemade Biscuits

Hello Everyone. HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

My sister wanted to have a yard sale yesterday. Instead we gathered up a LOT of things and headed to the flea market in Hendersonville. That meant me getting up at 3:30 am to get ready for the day. It was nice and cool then got terribly HOT!!!!! It was nice seeing people go through things that we were happy to get rid of. They thought the more they dug through boxes or piles the better the bargain. I promised myself I wasn’t going to look at any other tables and buy with the money I was making. But then on my way to the bathroom I passed a “store” in the flea market. So after we had packed up what was left into the Outback we headed over. I spent $30 on a Dora blanket for O. It was worth it seeing her face. Then we left everything else at Goodwill. I wasn’t going to take anything else back home!

B2, H and B went to see Ratatouille when I got back home with the rest of my Flea Market money. I had hoped for a nap since I had been going on 3 1/2 hours of sleep..but O had other plans for me. Anyway…..

Today has been a nice day. Everyone let Mommy sleep in. I needed it. Then of course I made a recipe from my favorite blog!!!!!!

Shepherds Pie

It was TASTY. I used 2 pounds of meat and added a garlic clove. I only used peas in the meat mixture and before adding the mashed potatoes I added a layer of corn. Along with some homemade bisuits—it was AWESOME! ~~Have I ever mentioned I won a biscuit baking contest in high school?~ I totally blocked it out and never really baked bisuits again. Since I made some many in high school. But my HB loves them! With my moms homemade pear jelly. Sooooo

Doctor Who is over so we have nothing fun and exciting to watch today. Unless I watch My Family. It’s another BBC series. It’s no longer on but HB found them for me on DVD. It is hilarious! Or I do have Sledgehammer!!!! I so love that show!

Well, I guess I’ll go play the loving mom and wife. Have a lovely Sunday afternoon.

BTW, My son cut his finger and the bathroom looked like a crime scene.

That was the BEST movie!!!

Stranger Than Fiction

Add that movie to your “watch” list ASAP!

Today had been designated Clean Up The Basement. Which of course I am all for being my clean freak self. I have been moving things around and vacuuming down there the past hour or so. We will have a new washer and dryer come M-Tuesday so I am cleaning up for that. When HB gets back from this Barber visit he is taking out the old machine and moving the dryer. He is putting the dryer on Craigs List and getting it out of the way. So the basement looks a bit messy but the rest are things that HB has to do. I cleared him a table to arrange his ‘piles’ on as soon as he gets home. The rest is his stuff. Sooooo, that is his ‘honey do list’. Well I do have two pots to empty in the compost because the flowers died. But that’s it. LOL

H had company last night and they were very well behaved. We didn’t hear a peep out of them last night. I love over night guests like that! LOL Company and a good nights sleep. WOW!

Then after company left H started her 2 weeks of being grounded. She is lucky her company was allowed to come to begin with. H has never been grounded before. She has 2 weeks of no Ipod or phone. I think that will hurt more than it sounds since she lives with both of them all the time. Why is she grounded?? Because Friday morning I asked her to change out of the TOOOOOO tight jeans (from her dads) into some different jeans. Long story short–she wasn’t very kind to me and talked very hateful to me. I know the start of being a teenager. But I will not be talked to like that. So now she is grounded for the first time and being very nice to me at the moment. Why are moms considered the enemy??? Hmmmm???

HB and I are going to buy O a toddler bed this next week. I know it will take some time for her to adjust but she will in the end. I just don’t want her to think we are kicking her out of our bed for the new baby. So if we get her out now—she can adjust to her new bed before the baby gets here. She can help pick out the new bed things and we will make ‘her bed’ really really special for her.

B2 is out with his grandmother at the moment.. He house is strangely quiet. LOL But it is nice that way. I have been crocheting on sleeve number 1. I am making progress I suppose. I know this is my first sweater ever and I am not sure if it will look right in the end. ha ha I will make sure the sleeves are the same length though! LOL You hear of horror stories about a relative making you a sweater and the sleeves being different lengths and such. Anyway.

Tonight we are having my dads birthday dinner finally. Everyone is over the flu and he is back in town. I am looking forward to eating out with everyone. I know it will be very nice.

I hope that everyone has a lovely Saturday and Sunday. They are calling for snow today and tonight I think in the area. I hope we get a light dusting! We’ll see. Bye Bye :)

Olive is my hero!

Last night we watched Little Miss Sunshine. It was a really really really good movie. I give it 3 really’s! Okay 4! Really!

It was wonderful from start to finish! At the end I couldn’t stop laughing! Soooo Olive is my hero! I won’t go stripping in any beauty pageants just yet though. HA HA!

Good Morning everyone. TGIF ?!?! I am glad it is Friday. Today I am going to take H’s pants to be hemmed, buy yarn and grocery shop. If time permits I want to run into Steinmart and look around. Remember I still have a gift-card for there. I like Steinmart. I seem to find the best jeans there! I am so picky, well all women are picky when it comes to jeans. I want jeans that cover all the goodies. I cannot wear low cut jeans. HELLO I HAD THREE CHILDREN! Make them for my body type too! SO, that past few pairs of Jeans I have came from there. Anyway…
