Nocciolata Hazelnut Spread With Cocoa & Milk
{A yummy review and GIVEAWAY!}
{Move Over, Nutella!! There's a Better Spread in Town!

NocciolataI received this little jar in the mail and finished it last night during a midnight raiding in my kitchen.  I enjoyed spreading this yummy organic treat on some cinnamon grahams and right off my spoon.

My family loves hazelnut spread and we’ve tried different brands but Nocciolata is organic {we are an organic family} and delicious.  I enjoyed it more than other brands that we’ve tried.  I liked the fact that it didn’t leave that plastic-ey feeling in my mouth after eating it.

Since I finished my jar last night I will have to add it to my grocery list.  It’s perfect on crackers, apples, strawberries and straight off the spoon.  The kids love it on toast and in their lunch box with apples and crackers.  Yummy!

I’m off to buy more.

More information about Nocciolata {pronounced no-cho-lata}:

It's actually quite simple. Quality ingredients produce superior taste. Only certified organic ingredients go into each jar of creamy, dreamy Nocciolata. That means no chemicals, no artificial flavors, no GMOs and absolutely zero palm oil. Nocciolata is still made following the Rigoni's exclusive family recipe. It is a slow process that uses only carefully selected ingredients like dark chocolate from the Antillean Islands, Italian hazelnuts (16%), brown sugar, skim milk and Bourbon vanilla extract.

Made with organic ingredients completely free of GMO's, preservatives, colors, additives, or artificial sweeteners, Rigoni di Asiago's Nocciolata combines hazelnuts, cocoa and cocoa butter, natural vanilla extract, raw cane sugar, and skimmed milk for a chocolate-hazelnut spread with undeniably superior flavor and smooth, creamy texture. Unlike other brands, which use palm oil, Nocciolata is made with environmentally-responsible cold-pressed sunflower oil. It also contains far less sugar than other brands and is free from hydrogenated fats. It is also gluten-free.

Each batch takes 36 hours of artisanal preparation to develop its rich and complex flavor and easy-to-spread texture. Nocciolata is perfect for snacking, a wonderful addition to breakfast spreads, an alternative to other nut butters, and is a wonderful accompaniment for breads, croissants, crepes, and fruit.

Monday already?
Oops, I forgot to post this yesterday! Sooooooooo, I added more so I could post in a few, soooooooooooo HAPPY TUESDAY!

How did that happen?  I just cannot believe that September is almost here.  I love this time of year.

Fall weather.

The leaves will change into beautiful colors and fall to the ground.

It also means..

Time to get my warm fuzzy sweaters out!

I love crisp weather, sweaters and hot cocoa.

LOTS OF WARM BEAUTIFUL YARN in snuggly colors.

Last week was busy I believe.  I’ve forgotten what I did already.

School started.

I packed lunches for both girls for three days.

I did cook a lot of good food!  One night we even had company.  Mamaw and Great Aunt.  I made a delicious BBQ pork for sandwiches with coleslaw.  {To which my kids still call COLDSLAW.}

Crazy beautiful H came over with sweet sweet baby.

The Adventures of Supermom®

Kids do say the darnedest things. {Oldies but goodies.}

At least we were at home for these two:

I was on the bed nursing the baby when Lovely O comes in to ask me if I had her paci.

I told her I did not have it.

She SAID, "DAMMIT!!"!!

I calmly yelled for her daddy to come there. When he gets in the room she asks him if he has her paci. I start to hide my face with a pillow because I know what is coming next.

He told her he didn't have her paci.

She SAID, "DAMMIT!!"!!

He looks at me as I am hiding my face trying not to laugh out loud.

Me ~ It’s raining outside.

Lovely O ~ Dammit!  We’ll have to get the umbrella!

I had a cold and was coughing. Lovely O was trying to tell me something.

I had to tell her, "Wait a sec. I cannot hear you because I am coughing."

Lovely O ~ "Hold your mouth shut and you'll stop."

~coughing~ "I cannot stop coughing."

Lovely O ~ "Hold your mouth tighter, like this."

She seals her lips together tighter than the seal on my refrigerator!

It didn't work.

Might Mug {All About}
The Mug That Won’t Fall Over

Mighty MugI do a lot of my work {most of it} sitting at my desk with a cup of coffee beside my laptop as my desk is piled with papers and books.  What would be the worst thing to happen?  Yes, spilling my coffee.

I’ve had that happen.

I freaked out and started picking up papers and books and trying to grab my laptop to save it.

Then there’s a mess to clean.

{drum roll}

Then I was asked to review Mighty Mug!  Mighty Mug has changed my life, my love for coffee while working and made me happy.

Let me share some great information with you.

Mighty Mug is the innovative mug that grips to your desk when knocked into. Say good-bye to your old mug that falls over and spills. Desks of the world rejoice!

You heard me right AND it works!!  I’ve tested my mug all over the house.  It’s totally cool that you just nudge the mug all the time only to feel it stand strong and not tip over.

{happy dance}

Back to School with Out of Chaos Planner {All About}

Order Out of Chaos

It’s Back to School time!  Time to buy books, pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, lunch boxes and book bags.  While shopping for your back to school supplies don’t forget a planner so your busy student can write everything down - so they don’t forget anything like homework, a project and even all their activities.

Out of Chaos mailed me two planners and an amazing book, What’s the Deal With...Teens and Time Management by Leslie Josel.  Goodness gracious as a busy mom I need this book for my kids and for myself!

As a busy mom and blogger and someone with a business I have to write everything down and my planner is my Holy Grail!  I couldn’t survive without one.  Thankfully I was sent two Out of Chaos Planners because I kept one for myself and I gave one to my college student.  She was very grateful for the new planner and the time management book.

Order Out of Chaos

I feel like I am dreaming...

The girls have half day of school today.

I just dropped them off.

I’m actually enjoying a HOT cup of coffee.

I just typed up a review without stopping a million times!

The house is quiet.

Oh wait, I hear the neighbor boy.

No, it’s quiet again.

Hot coffee.

{In my head I am skipping around a meadow of green grass with flowers in my hair...barefoot...listening to birds singing.}

I love back to school day.

I will try to remember to miss the girls a bit later…

I don’t.

School starts this week. I’m dancing around the house.
Told you I have been busy ALL summer. This is just a glimpse into the past WEEK.Lots of pictures. {You've been warned.}

I’m sorry that I haven’t posted an update lately...things have been busy.

My beautiful daughter came over three days last week with sweet sweet baby so {of course} I had better things to do.  Like play with the baby, get the baby to sleep, hold a sleeping baby and of course take pictures of sweet sweet baby.  I took some to surprise my daughter and her boyfriend since sweet sweet baby turned seven months old.

Lovely O helped me take these pictures, she did all the heavy lifting by carrying the rocking chair outside.  The rocking chair was Superdads when he was a baby.  {gentle smile}  Sweet baby just wanted to stand up in the rocking chair or eat the arm of the rocking chair.

BUT we managed to get some amazing pictures.

Zulily - Back to School tips

How To Save During Back to School Shopping

Zulily - Back to School tipsTo prepare your kids to head back into the classroom, zulily Kids Fashion Expert Shawn Anderson recommends:

*  Plan in advance: Don’t wait until August 15 to start your back to school preparation. Avoid the stress of last-minute shopping by getting started now and finish before all the good deals are gone.

*  Get organized: Pull together a back to school checklist so you don’t forget any of the necessities.

*  Shop online: Sites like zulily offer parents a wide variety of back to school essentials for kids, including clothes, shoes, accessories, supplies and toys, at incredible prices. You can find everything your kid needs (and more!) and save money at the same time.

*  Stockpile your favorite items at a discount: When you find something your child loves and needs each year for school at a great price, be sure to buy a few extra. Take advantage of these deals for years to come!

*  Check in with the kids: It is never a good feeling to buy your child new clothes and school supplies, only to find out that their favorite color or cartoon character has changed. Involve your kids in the shopping process so you make sure you’re buying items they like and want to use.

Family Fun Magazine Celebrates National S’mores Day
Three Delicious Ooey Gooey Recipes - No Campfire Required

S’mores are an American tradition that kids and adults all love.  These tasty treats can be enjoyed all year not only during summer months!  Thanks to Family Fun Magazine for sharing these three ooey gooey recipes!

National S'mores Day

Line a tray with parchment paper. In a small bowl, melt 1 cup chocolate chips according to the package directions. Place 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers in another bowl. Quickly dip one marshmallow at a time in the chocolate, then in the cracker crumbs (you should have enough for 12 bonbons). Let them cool on the tray.

Tug and the Tooth {All About}
Adventures Starts With A Wiggle

Tug and the ToothWith four kids I know all about loose teeth and how hard it is to talk with a child about losing it because they are scared it will hurt and unsure about all this teeth business.  It will be a memory that all children will remember because even though I am 41 I remember some of the worries that I had as a little girl.

At our house when the Tooth Fairy visits she will spread glitter in places and on the two dollar bill that she receives and often Superdad folds it in a neat fun way.  We enjoy when the Tooth Fairy comes and I know that we will truly miss it when they have all their big girl teeth.

With Tug and the Tooth your child can follow along with Tug and Liza knowing that Tug will protect their valuable treasure, THEIR TOOTH, while they wait for the Tooth Fairy to visit their house.  {Unless mom and dad fall asleep and forget BUT that only happens now and then.  Innocent smile.}

I’m glad that we get to start a new Tooth Fairy tradition with our sweet sweet granddaughter who is only seven months old.  Since our daughters are older I am going to give it to sweet sweet baby for her first birthday in January.  This makes the perfect gift for children who are learning all about losing a tooth and learning about the Tooth Fairy.

I loved my Fisher Price record player when I was a little girl and I would listen to my albums for hours at a time following along with the book and turning the page when I heard that magical sound play over the little speaker.

Essentia Water {A Review}

Essentia WaterI was so thrilled to open a box full of Essentia Water that was sent to me to review.

Water is very important for us to drink and I am {I hate to admit} guilty in that I don’t drink enough water during the day.  I just get so busy chasing my kids that I just don’t drink enough. Except coffee - I will grab my coffee in the morning and have a few more cups during the day but I don’t grab water enough.

Essentia WaterThat’s the amazing thing about Essentia Water is that it’s loaded with electrolytes that help you stay hydrated throughout your day.  This purified water has a clean crisp taste without calories, artificial flavoring and there is ZERO sugar added.  I sort of compared it to a sports drink without all the bad stuff.

It’s really important in these hot months to stay hydrated so I’m glad that I can tell you about this water.

When I first tried Essentia Water I found it to be very refreshing and crisp.  It is just what I want in bottled water.  I’ve tried about every brand of water out there and I feel like I am mostly drinking water flavored with a bit of plastic.  Know what I mean?

I hate that in water.  I want a clean tasting water when I am thirsty not a plastic tasting water from a bottle.

I feel better knowing that Essentia is good for me, refreshing and all in one bottle AND I can drink all I want.  I carry it everywhere with me!  Around the house, outside, in the van and even when we went on a hike.  You can add veggies and fruit to make a great tasting drink or nice and cold from the fridge.

The sky’s the limit!  Have fun drinking Essentia Water.  Remember your body loves water and my body loves Essentia.

With a Little Help from My Friends - Joe Cocker

The Adventuers of Supermom®

The song With a Little Help from My Friends by Joe Cocker is one of my all time favorite songs.  I found Wonder Years on Netflix a few weeks ago and of course started to hum the song and then I started to sing it out of tune.

What would you think if sang out of tune,
Would you stand up and walk out on me ?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

I try to surround myself with people that appreciate who I am and what I have to offer and people who understand what I want out of life.  Our experiences make us who we are and we change throughout life.

Having kids changes us, getting married, having a job, divorcing, another marriage, more kids, a pet, life….

Recently I was able to go out for dinner with three gals that I think are amazing.  We can relate to each other through life.  We had delicious food and fun conversation.  My favorite topic was how we would eat Swiss Cake Rolls as a child.  Personally I would peel the chocolate off around the roll then unroll the cake to get to the icing.

I savored those double Swiss Cake Rolls just like I would take the Nutty Bars apart to lick the peanut butter off the crispy wafer.

It was pretty cool to remember those memories from childhood because I had forgotten all about them.

I’m glad I was able to spend time with those three amazing women.  I’m glad that we were able to take a moment from our busy day as moms and wives and as women to venture out.  With a little help from my friends I am able to step back, take a deep breath and remember how cool I am.  {gentle smile}

So the question I want to ask,

How do YOU eat your Swiss Cake Roll?

The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home by Drew Daywalt (Author) and Oliver Jeffers (Illustrator) #everycrayoncounts

The Day the Crayons Came Home

On our yearly vacation to Folly Beach, SC we always plan a day to spend in Charleston to visit a few shops, enjoy delicious food and perhaps take a carriage ride.  Back in 2013 on our Charleston trip we went to a bookstore in downtown to look for a few books on our list and we found a few we were looking for and we discovered a brand new book, The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt {author} and Oliver Jeffers {illustrator}

This is when we learned about this amazing crayon book.  Our oldest daughter found the book in the kids section and read it to her smaller sisters.  They loved the book so much that we bought it.  It was the only one in the store!!  YAY!  We hit the jackpot!

This book has been read to our children so many times and when it’s been story time at their school it is THE book that we take.  The kids love it and we do too.  It’s hilarious and such an original idea for a book.

The Day the Crayons Quit

Breastfeeding a seven year old...I think not.

I was sitting on the couch when Ninja Gurl came over to check out my right boob.  I don’t know why she didn’t cozy up to the left one.  Kids are odd.

She told me she wanted to try nursing.  {NO WAY}  I didn’t want to embarrass her so I told her she could give it a go.  She cozied up and tried to nurse for HALF A SECOND.

Then told me,

“Yeah, there’s no ninny.”

“I already knew that.”

Plus, there’s no way I’d be nursing a seven year old.

Then I told her,

“If you really want to nurse ask your older sis because she is nursing the baby.”

Slammers Protein {A Review}
The PERFECT organic smoothie for Back-to-School lunches, after school treats, kids playing sports and even recovering from surgery.

SlammersRecently I took some time off to care for my youngest daughter that you know as Ninja Gurl because she had her tonsils and adenoids removed.  I even closed my email for almost FOUR weeks!  {gasp}  I know it’s a shock!  I enjoyed not having the added pressure of emails and junk mail while I was taking care of my baby.

Ninja’s doc had told us that she could lose five pounds after the surgery but not to be alarmed in this.  What her doctor didn’t know was an amazing company had sent me, SUPERMOM, lots of boxes of Slammers Protein!!!  Slammers to the rescue.  {Fast forward two weeks at NG’s check-up and she weighed the same!!!}

I give Slammers Protein all of the credit.  That and lots of ice cream!  LOTS OF ICE CREAM!

I just cannot brag enough about how amazing these smoothies are and they are packed with protein and they are all fruity and veggie delicious.  Kids love them and they are good for them unlike a lot of brightly colored treats that claim to be yogurt.  I’d much rather buy Slammers Protein and original Slammers for a snack or special treat than anything else in the same category as smoothies.

I cannot wait for school to start {for MANY MANY reasons} because I can add Slammers to the girl’s lunch boxes!  Since they go to a private Montessori School they have to take their lunch to school every day and I’m always looking for ideas because the girls will only eat this and that and sometimes that and maybe this every other Tuesday every other month BUT they both love Slammers so I will feel better knowing they are getting a protein packed Slammers loaded with fruit and veggies that is amazing for their always growing body.

Not only can we give our kids a great smoothie like Slammers but now they can also enjoy Slammers with Protein!

Why protein?
Protein is needed to grow and maintain muscles, organs, bones and the immune system. It also helps keep you feeling full for longer, making your snack more satisfying. A serving of SlammersTM Protein+ provides 7g of protein, the same amount found in 1 egg!

Doctor Who wouldn't be Doctor Who without his Tardis {The making of my Tardis}

Michelle Lee @michelleunpluggedWe are HUGE MEGA fans of Doctor Who, my husband longer than myself, so I had to make him something perfect for Christmas of 2013.  It was a total surprise so I could only work on it when he was at work or when he went to bed.  I would patiently wait for him to go to bed each night {alone} so I could stay up for HOURS working on the Tardis.  At one point it was getting upset that I never went to bed with him.

I wish I had kept count of the hours spent on making the Tardis.  {dammit}

His very own Tardis.  {Which is over a foot tall.}

Here's a pattern that I created all on my own so if you please use it, can ya give me a bit of credit?

This Tardis was created and made by Michelle Lee of The Adventures of Supermom®.

SEE!!  Super easy!  Just copy and paste the above to add.  :)

My Supplies:

plastic canvas in clear and black
yarn - Tardis blue, white and black
felt - Tardis blue and white
small wooden “ornaments” in the shape of a sign {for the door} and spool {for the light}
paint pens - Tardis blue, white and black
craft glue

I was just winging this project and thankfully it all worked out.  At first I cut the four panels from the clear plastic in the size I wanted my Tardis to be.  Make sure to count your tiny squares before cutting to make sure the door panels and windows will be center when you put it together.  l used graph paper so I could get a visual of the tiny squares and where I would place the door panels and windows.  Then you’ll want to cut out the panels for the door and the window panels.  {Be careful using the X-ACTO knife!!!}

After everything was cut I started adding the yarn.  You’re going to sew like you are cross stitching without forming the X.  You'll go across with your / ‘s then move to the next line on your way back across making more / ‘s.  Super easy but TIME CONSUMING!!!  I think most of my time was doing this.  {CRINGE!}  You’ll want to go around the cut out door panels and window panels with your Tardis blue yarn.

The Tardis, Doctor Who

Growth Chart Art
{A beautiful review.}

Growth Chart Art

Before I went on vacation I opened a box from Growth Chart Art and was in shock because of what was inside - these two beautiful works of art that chart the progress of your child's growth.  You don’t have to use the wall anymore to mark how tall the kids are or be sad when you move thinking you cannot take those memories with you.  Sadly this is never a tradition that I took part in really.

The Adventures of Supermom® was sent a beautiful Owl Wood Ruler Growth Chart for Boys and Girls and a beautiful Tree of Life Wooden Ruler Growth Chart for Girls - Flower Blossom and they are just stunning.  In a way I’m afraid to mark them up with measurements even though that is their purpose.  {gentle laugh here}

Growth Chart Art
I cannot wait to find the perfect place to hang our growth chart up to start marking how tall the kids are and our granddaughter.  Making memories one inch at a time.

They have an extensive line of beautiful designs including: wooden skis, surfboards, snowboards, owls, giraffes, and many more that allow families to mark memories in minutes.

Are you looking for a great growth chart for the children in your life? If so, you have come to the right place.  Growth Chart Art, is your premier source for creative, sustainably made growth charts and nursery decor for children and families. Their mission is to provide wonderful customers with the ability to mark the important moments in their life using a growth chart that is timeless, artistic, and made in a way that respects the world around us.

What happened to the A-Team?

a teamBesides death????  I'm kidding, the show isn't that ancient!  Actually only one of the main characters has died but he was my favorite of the bunch.

George Peppard I miss you!!!!!!

I was {and still am} a huge A-Team fan!!!  Who wasn't while growing up in the 80's?  It was totally awesome seeing Hannible, Faceman, B.A. and Crazy Murdock help the good guys and make sure the bad guys were punished.  Robin Hood all over again with SEVERAL Maid Merians.

I can remember all of B.A.'s jewelry and breaking out Murdock from mental hospitals and Faceman picking up all the beautiful ladies.  Ahhh, life was so simple in the 80's with jelly shoes, jelly bracelets and big hair!  The clothes and the make-up!  Such fun.

banacekGeorge Peppard  has always been a favorite of mine and when I started dating my husband he introduced me to Banacek!

Banacek with his Polish proverbs!  That was so funny!

"A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn."

It was totally cool!!  I'd never even heard of Banacek!  Thank you dear husband for this show!  I've never admitted how much I enjoyed it and how much I enjoyed George Peppard.

couplingRecently I started watching Leverage reruns on TV because I'm a fan of Gina Bellman who plays Sophie {Crazy Jane of Coupling - British show like Friends but better} and Timothy Hutton who is Jim Hutton's son.

ellery queen
Ellery Queen

Jim Hutton was on another show that my husband introduced me to!!!!  Ellery Queen, a fun detective show!

Father and Son.  The Huttons

{I have a thing for detective shows it seems.}  DUH!

So it hit me, Leverage is a new version of The A-Team with fancier gadgets, the INTERNET and more LOL fun!

Parker is my favorite on Leverage!!  She's just awesome and if I were a thief/turned good guy I know that I'd be just like her.  Since I'm watching reruns I wonder if she gets with Hardison because the love is evident!

Spencer is B.A. all over again without all the bling bling!  He adds a lot of comic relief!!  HA HA!

AND they have a van named Lucille.

I guess you can tell that I ENJOY all of the above shows.

Do you watch any of them??
