I'm just not Supermom anymore....

I think I’m just worn out with blogging. I’ve been around a long time and I think I have given all the advice that I know. You firs...

The Adventures of Supermom® now has a theme song.

Thank you so much for celebrating with me the whole month of November my 10TH Anniversary for The Adventures of Supermom®.  I've had so much fun blogging and I hope to continue to do so.  On the last day of the month I wanted to share with you my new theme song that my youngest daughter made up for me.  On a whim, like in two minutes.

Ninja Gurl is so awesome when it comes to singing jingles about everything!  She makes these little jokes and rhymes that make us all laugh and be impressed!!

She is a genius.  {Nodding}

She was in bed with me last week because I've had another “flair up” and she started singing me a song.

I love my mom
She's so super
Awesomest in the world
She saves everyone
She's Supermom

She's my mom
She's the best in the world
She saves everyone
She's Supermom

She's pretty amazing.

My Ninja Gurl.

Now I have a theme song and it's fabulous.  I need some Pips to help sing background!  Anyone??

Stay AWAY from the pet store!!!
{They have too many flipping adorable furry critters there!!}

Michelle LeeLast week I went to the pet store to talk about guinea pigs.  My oldest daughter has one and I was toying with the idea of perhaps, maybe Santa giving the girls one for Christmas.  {I hadn't of talked this over with my husband yet as it was in the thinking about stage in my head.}  While talking about guinea pigs with the clerk I was picking up bunnies and holding them.

Then I realized I wasn't putting this one bunny down.

I couldn't put the bunny down.

Now the girls have an early Christmas present from us.

I impulsively bought a rabbit.  A lionshead rabbit.

It's name is Kitty.

We love Kitty a lot.

I'm super glad that Kitty has a home with us and the girls are too.

Who is Theresa Agnes Newton?

Michelle Lee @The Adventures of Supermom®One day after work Superdad stopped by our local library and saw this amazing little book from 1926 and he proceeded to tell me about it when he got home.  We love buying books from our library and we've found some pretty good books that way as well.

The next day we stopped by the library and it was still there and I just felt the hopeless romantic come out in me and I was all dreamy about the history of the book.

Who was Theresa Agnes Newton??

There were notes in her R. Browning school book from Meredith College.  Even doodles on the cover!  Just amazing!  Now you can see why I fell in love with the whole idea of this book.  When I came home I {of course} Googled her name and college and I found her picture from MEREDITH COLLEGE in 1926!!!!!  YES WAY!!!!

I can now put a face on the owner of this little book and that is pretty damn amazing.

Things I'm enjoying since I turned 40. {And before.}

Michelle LeeOver the years I'd decided not to worry about using my fine china every day; to enjoy these beautiful things that I have in the now.  I've worked hard over the years so instead of putting my things up for “special occasions”, I treat every single day as a special occasion.

Why don't we do this every day of our life?  Every day that we wake up in our bed is a special occasion.  That's how I see things.

Secretly I smile every time I make my coffee because my sugar is stored in the sugar bowl that is my “special china” from my china cabinet.  Do I worry about breaking it?  Sure but I enjoy seeing it in my kitchen and I smile knowing that I am using it.

The same goes for my silk gowns and robes that I used to keep for those “special occasions”.  Then it dawned on me that I enjoy how they feel and that I feel super pretty in them so why not wear them every night.  So I do.  It's a really nice feeling and I like it.

It is the little things that we forget to enjoy through life.

Long before turning 40 I believed in always wearing good perfume.  I love Obsession, Chanel #5 and more recently I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Hermes 24, Faubourg.  I always wear perfume!  Even if my plans are to stay home and clean house.  There's just something calming about catching the scent of a delicious perfume.  So, I may not have brushed my teeth or have on clean clothes BUT I do smell fabulous!

But now that I am 40 I have ventured into the many colors of red!  My BFF was chanting “Do it! Do it!  Do it!” while my husband told me, “I've been telling you that for years”.  I'm no red virgin by any means because my piggies are always painted a lovely shade of red but I've never been bold enough to wear red lipstick.

Until now.

Finding the perfect shade of red lipstick is an adventure!  When I decided to give it a go I bought three shades at the drug store and only liked ONE of those!!!!  {I gave the other two to my BFF because she is already a red voyeur.}  I even bought {my husband did} a THIRTY DOLLAR tube of Chanel red lipstick that is gorgeous.  That makes two.  Then I happened to come across a Rimmel red at the drug store that made me all tingly!!!!!  It really is a beautiful color and LASTS ALL DAY like the Chanel.

Here I am, just turned forty and I am a red lipstick addict.  I'm sure there is therapy for this.

Michelle lee

{But the red lipstick looks awesome since I started painting my finger nails red to match my piggies.}

Insert a huge smile here.  Life is good.

So Michelle, if you were stranded on an deserted island, what are the three things you'd have to have to survive?

1. Perfume
2. Red Lipstick
3. Sunscreen

I'm sure with those three things my husband could radio for help, build a shelter and make a mean pina colada!

Throwback Thursday, a post I wrote for my Lovely O

The Adventures of Supermom®Monday, February 18, 2008
So what if she likes grape jelly on her blueberry waffles.

Good Monday morning from my computer chair to yours. This blog is going to be all about my youngest daughter O. She will three years old in 23 days. Or there abouts. Not that I am counting them.

It is sad to think of my baby growing up. It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. Then she turned 1, then 2 and now 3! She is such a big girl.

As she is running around the house now in her Dora nightgown with her ponytails all messy. Wearing her princess jewelry. Sucking on her paci. Yes, she still has it and we are okay with it. If you aren’t, then you come take it from her.

I think of how much I am in love with that little girl. ~And my other 2 children.~

I love it when she laughs and says, “Tickle me”. Tells me I am her best friend forever. And when we are all snuggled together she will wrap her arms around my neck and tell me she loves me with all of her heart.

Here recently you can ask her something and she will say, “Umm, no” or “Umm, yes”. It's cute.

Yesterday when her big brother locked her out of his room we heard her scream through the door, “BEN CALVIN”.  She thought using his middle name would get that door open. It didn’t but we got a good laugh from it.

I love to hear all these new words she picks up. She has been talking for a long time. She started speaking complete sentences when she started talking it seems. Such a VAST vocabulary for someone so small. Well small in age I guess.

She is one tall girl. She got that from me. :) She has the most beautiful big brown eyes, from her daddy. Blond streaks in her hair where the sun has kissed it.

I like it how she always calls PINK things green.

I like to paint her toenails. She likes it too.

I love it when we are in bed for our nap together and I make up a story for her. She will say after, “That was a great story”.

I like how she picks out her clothes and shoes for the day. We don’t argue much over her choices.

I like to watch her jump on the trampoline. Hair flying everywhere. Laughing. Just enjoying herself. Freedom.

It warms my heart when I come home from being away from her she will say, “I am so happy, I have missed you”.

I simply adore when we wake up in the morning and she will ask, “You sleep good mommy?”. Since she shares our bed, I get lots of snuggle time at bedtime and when we first wake up. On occasion I have felt a poke poke for me to get up that she is awake and ready to get up out of bed.

I like sharing my bath with her. Having her and bubbles at the same time is such a treat. We do this about every day.

There are so many things I have learned from all my children. They teach us what really is important in life. They are. They teach us to not be selfish and only think of ourselves. They teach us that love is really unconditional. I am still trying to get patience. I pray for that everyday. I hope that I am able to teach them as much as they have taught me.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Monday. I will because I will be with Lil O enjoying her as much as I can. Learning from her. Laughing with her. Letting her be her, because that is what she does best.
