Marilyn Monroe was not only beautiful but she had passion for reading and she has inspired me…

Reading is awesome....she has inspired me to start reading from her book collection list.  Earlier this year I came across her book collection on the internet because it was totally brag worthy and amazing and made this beautiful bombshell intelligent as well as a pretty face.  I wish I could have been at Christie’s in NYC when they were auctioned off because it would have been a great pleasure to own one of her books.  Sigh.

I may not own any of her books but I do have a list of the books in her collection and as soon as I finish Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy I will pick a book from the list to read and so on and so on.

I know that I may never read the whole list but I hope to mark a lot off over the next couple of years.  To read her vast collection isn’t just one summer read, I’m talking about years of reading.  I’d be foolish if I thought it wouldn’t take a long time.

I want to research to see if she has actually read all of the books on the list or if they were just in her collection not that I can really find this out since she isn’t here to answer the question herself.

Anyway.

Recycling a paper bag into gift wrap with a handle.

I love coming up with something out of the blue!

I was shopping at a store down the road and they packed my goodies into a paper bag with handles.  I just couldn't throw it away!!!  So I hung onto it and I'm glad that I did.  I was looking for some paper to wrap Superdad's present and found the paper bag.

Voila!

Even the paper bag says to recycle!  :)

Bathing Suit Season

It’s that time again, that time that I dread because I hate bathing suit season and I hate it because of my baby belly.

Yes, I have a baby belly, that annoying kangaroo pouch after having four children.  I did gain A LOT OF weight while pregnant and stretched A LOT of skin.  It happens and I’m stuck with it.  It’s called life.

My life.

So, when I’m shopping for a bathing suit I shop for something that holds everything in place.  I’m a huge Lands' End fan when it comes to bathing suits because they have amazing bathing suits that last for forever and hold everything where it’s supposed to go.

Which I really really love!

Recently I’ve been searching for vintage style bathing suits that have the high waists and I found one!  I ordered the beautiful vintage style bathing suit and had to wait because it was on backorder.

No biggie since I’m not ready to wear it just yet.

It came one day and I was thrilled until I tried it on.

Bathing Suit Season

The “girls” were all out there for display and that’s the ONE thing I didn’t like at all.  I had ordered a large so a bigger size wouldn’t work because the bottoms are a little loose as it is.

Then, like magic, I got an email with a 30% off with FREE shipping from Lands' End.

BINGO!

I found another top that would go with the vintage style bottoms and cover MORE of me on top.

I am not old!

Recently we were having a discussion with Ninja Gurl, telling her to not grow up.

Her response:

No, I want to be old like mommy.

*shaking head*

Oklahoma Tornados

With everything going on I just haven’t felt like turning on my laptop or even the TV afraid of what the news might bring.  I finally sat down and turned on my laptop and when I did Superdad showed me a very emotional video that I am going to share with you.

Just know that these families have been in my thoughts and in my prayers.

When something like this happens and you see these devastated people that will have to rebuild from the ground up and it makes you realize that possessions aren't all that important.

I'm one of those weird people that only has a few processions, if you don’t count my closet.  The only things I treasure are my pictures and special things that were gifts from Superdad and the kids and from my family.

The rest I could take it or leave it.  Sure, I’d miss my books, purses and shoes but they aren’t all that important in the grand scheme of things.

Yesterday I posted that in ten more days I would be 39, forever 39…

Baby Michelle
Isn’t that how it goes?  Or do you want to be forever 29?

I guess it all depends on the person and where they are in life I suppose.
Sigh.

But here I sit on my couch with my feet propped up and my laptop sitting in my lap (imagine that) with the windows open feeling the breeze flow through my living room.

I remember the past.

At times it even sneaks up on me.
