The Best of 2012
(In no specific order.)

Wow, another year has flown by and so much has happened!  If you doubt any of that then go back and read my blog for the past year!  The events mentioned below are only a few things that I could think of when I sat down to type this up, over a few days.  I know that I’ve missed some fun stuff but that’s okay.  I think I outlined the best stuff!

I hope that when you look back at your 2012 that you have as many awesome memories as I do and I hope that you make so many more memories in 2013.  I know that I’ve enjoyed so many things from 2012 and some are utterly unbelievable but they did, in fact, happen.  I’ve had a good year and I’ve got a good life.  I’m truly blessed.  I’ve been able to meet new friends, learn new experiences and enjoy my life.  Thank you for putting up with me for a year and reading the blog.  I hope I haven’t bored you too much this year with my nonsense rambling at times.

Perhaps I should spice things up next year and learn pole dancing, nahhhh, I’m not really the athletic type and I’d probably just end up sliding down the pole which wouldn’t have the same effect.  Ha ha

Okay, enough!  HAPPY END OF 2012!!!!  May 2013 brings you much joy, health and wealth.

Still Sick + Crocheting a Harry Potter Scarf

I’ve slept on the couch for three nights, taken two baths and I’ve been drinking a lot of Sprite and blowing my nose.

And crocheting.

I starting working on another Harry Potter Scarf for my cousin and finished it this morning.

Cooking with Kids - Dipped Pretzels

The girls helped me with the last bit of Christmas candy yesterday!  Dipped pretzels!!!  A lot of fun and licking of fingers took place.

There are things that your heart never forgets even if your mind does.

There is a tugging at my heart today.  I've been thinking about this for a week now and at least I am able to think about it now and not cry with sadness.

I lost my best friend Brian on December 21, 1996.

I thought I was going to fade away when I learned of his death.  I remember my mamaw was afraid to tell me because she knew of our bond.

We met in middle school.  One time he wrote me a note asking if we could hold hands while walking to the buses and we did hold hands that day.  We became the best of friends.  I came to love Brian with all my heart like a brother figure.  We always did things together like the movies, talking on the phone, competing over the phone playing Mario Brothers.  We were just Michelle and Brian, who were there for each other for the good times and the bad times.

YUMMY!  I've made this recipe before and it was GONE rather quickly.  This time I made three different flavors!  Must not eat all the candy in the house.  CHANTING!

My great aunt has always made these for as long as I can remember and everyone loves them.  So, now I make them a couple of times a year even though they don't last very long.

You could use any chips but I only use butterscotch.

Christmas Treats, Liqueur Balls

One for candy and one for later when I don't have to drive anymore. :) it is always good to plan ahead.
Instead of using rum I use Frangelico for a tasty surprise.  I found various recipes online and come up with this one.

* 1/2 cup toasted pecans before chopping, finely chop after cooling
* 1 1/4 cups finely crushed shortbread cookies
* 1/2 cup powdered sugar
* 2 tablespoons cocoa
* 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
* 1/4 cup Frangelico Liqueur

Toast pecans and chop then crush cookies.  Add all to a bowl, stir and chill.  Roll into small bowls then roll into more powdered sugar.  Store in a sealed container in fridge until ready to enjoy.
