I'm just not Supermom anymore....

I think I’m just worn out with blogging. I’ve been around a long time and I think I have given all the advice that I know. You firs...

Could you?

Hmmm, how often do you use your cellphone, Blackberry or iPhone? Do you text a lot? Check your Facebook and Twitter? Do you play Words with Friends? You you blog on you iPhone like I'm doing right now from the comfort of my own bed?

Could you go 24 hours without using your phone? Do you want to try?

Think about it.

Shades of Grey Challenge Day, I lost count already.

Enjoying my coffee in my grey jammie top.

She's a TV Freak!

I feel like a TV freak come fall and it’s depressing me.  I have the week lined up and I’ve made sure the DVR is set to record things that may come on at the same time or after I go to bed!  Is that normal?  I don’t watch much TV in the summer because we are busy and it’s mostly reruns anyway.  But once September gets here and all the new shows start coming on it gets all CrAzY at our house because I have shows I want watch and Superdad has shows and sports that he wants to watch and the kids have shows too.

We may have to buy a dry erase board to set up a schedule.   LOL

Shades of Grey Challenge Day 4

50 Shades of Grey
Supermom Style

My friend Twilight Junkie sent me a text today about shopping at Steinmart and buying pajamas.  She was literally like, “WTF!  Steinmart and PAJAMAS!!”

Don’t be hatin’ TJ!

So, she has challenged me to a 50 Shades of Grey blog challenge.  Yes, you guessed it.  I’ve already proved to you how many grey shirts that I own so TJ wants me to take a picture for 30 days wearing a grey shirt.  (This is how I feel about the book.)

I must be crazy, or bored, to accept.  Thank goodness she doesn’t live in Asheville or I bet she’d get me in all sorts of trouble.  Ha ha.

So, Day 1 of Grey.  This picture was taken today after my haircut and, of course, I’m in a grey sweater.  From now on I’ll post a pic holding my phone to show off my grey-ness and the date for the next 29 days.

I did it.

Monday Monday Monday

I survived the weekend of trying to do absolutely nothing!  I mean nothing.  I would have preferred to stay in my jammies but there were things to do like grocery shop and I went to Steinmart after hearing there was an amazing sale.  I returned home with some amazing pajamas that had cocktails on them!  SAWEET!!!!  WIN!!!!

Let’s see, what else did I do?  We went out to lunch on Saturday to White Duck Taco where they have an awesome sign, “Unattended kids will be given an espresso and a new puppy.”  I thought that was hilarious!  If that doesn’t make you super glue your kid to you then I don’t know what would.  Know what I mean?  Hell if I want to take a hyped up kid home with a new puppy!!!!!

I Love Trains

Today we stopped for a train to our delight!  I love trains!  My Papaw worked at Norfolk Southern up until he retired so many many years ago.  So, trains have a very special place in my heart, just like my Papaw.

What will you do today?  Comment below to let us know!

So it is Tuesday.

I’m sitting here at my desk with hot coffee listening to music getting ready to work on all the paperwork that’s sitting on my desk and work on all those emails.

That’s all I have at the moment.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me; As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready in heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for, and so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had;

But when I walked through heaven's gate I felt so much at home,
When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow but today will always last,
And since each day's the same, there's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do.

But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free;
So won't you come and take my hand  and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart.
When you remember me, SMILE.

There is no blog today or a silly picture.  Today will be in memory of Kevyn as he is buried today.  I want this family to know that they are thought about and loved so very much.  Bobbie, his mother, has been a friend of mine since middle school.  I've been thinking and praying for this family for over a week now as they have gone through such a terrible tragedy.  I love you Bobbie.

Time for a Vlog

Yay! A vlog finally after being harassed by a loyal fan. :)

I talk about my hair as I show you an old glamour shot picture from 12 years ago. I show off my tattoo but reassure that I didn't get any free piercings the same day I got the tattoo. HA HA!

Dear Supermom,
Here I go, again begging for a vlog.  Your readers have no idea what's going on w/your hair, if your still drinking coffee or not, or if your new tatt came along w/a free piercing.  Stop snapping pictures of chickens and make a video.

TJ (Your most loyal & devoted fan)

P.S.  do you think you could put your hands on a grey t-shirt to wear in the vlog?

My response:

All The Single Ladies

Hens in my backyard.

I love Fall.

Asheville, North Carolina

Saturday we were able to play tourists in our own hometown just for fun.  We walked the streets and went into stores and even had some delicious food and tasty treats!  The kids enjoyed a toy store and I had fun looking at wigs.  The wig store has been there for as long as I can remember, even as a little girl I remember the wig store!!!!

Here are a few pictures from the day:

How blogging saved me.

It has been over seven years since I was in the working field as a drug store manager. Dressing up. Remembering safe numbers and security codes. Counting money. Unloading stock trucks. Stocking shelves. Ordering. Dealing with customers and dealing with employees. Ahhhh, such a glamorous life. I tease!!

I go from the above to wiping snotty noses with my shirts. My dress code has changed from heels to clean pj's. Or even semi clean pj's. Stepping on toys. Dealing with tantrums. Managing naps and carpool. I am now a personal chef, art director, nurse, playmate, monkey bars, laundry attendant, therapist and insert everything a mother does during the day for her family.

I began blogging when I was pregnant with my third child over seven years ago on a whim.  It was really awful blogging by the way.  No meaning really.  I'm proud to say it has gotten better over time.  I really never know what I'm going to blog about until I sit down and think about it.  If I'm lucky one of the kids or Superdad will do something and that's my material for the day.  I'm sorry but sometimes that is how it works out.  Living in the house of a blogger makes you say things you never thought you'd say before.  Like, "DO NOT BLOG ABOUT THIS!" or "I READ YOUR BLOG TODAY.”

What's for dinner?

Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Turnip Greens, Yellow Squash with a Pear with Banana Honey Salad.

I will remember.

Party Entertainment?

Looking for a way to amuse the kids that play in your backyard?

Invite me over then you will hear, “MOM, come here and show them your new tattoo.”

Yeah, that happened yesterday in my backyard with the neighbor over playing with the girls.

Young Love

Holding her boyfriend's hand at hospital.

Last night I took my teenage daughter to the ER after I found her crying in bed, she hadn't been feeling well all day even though we were playing tourists in our own hometown (another post later).

So, we waited.  We people watched.  My daughter cried with pain.  I kept seeking out nurses for help for my daughter.  Moms can be pretty vocal when their baby is in pain.  Ask all the nurses that I bothered last night.  I’d taken my notebook with me but had forgotten my pen so I was unable to write!!!!!  *gasp*  It’s like not having power when your laptop is sitting in your lap or the bulb dead when you want to read or when it’s raining and you want to go outside and sit in the sun.

People were calling and texting me as I periodically updated my Facebook.  Thanks to all those warm and fuzzy thoughts!

After waiting three hours we were finally in a room so I wouldn't have to hear obnoxious mothers yelling at their children, see children with broken bones because of sporting injuries and see people throwing up.

Then we waited some more.

After being in the hospital four and a half hours we were finally on our way home with antibiotics for strep.  Poor teenager is feeling pretty rough and in quarantine because she is contagious and we don’t want anyone else sick.  Superdad has been spraying the Lysol and I’ve just been sitting in a daze because I need sleep.  I will require sleep pretty soon.

Facebook status from earlier today.

Dear body,
I know that school has started and you are being faced with all sorts of germs but can you please suck it up and move on. Being in bed the past 22 hours for a tummy bug hasn't been fun.
