A World of Food by Carl Warner

In keeping up with my food theme today I wanted to talk about this amazing book that I received in the mail.  I was so happy to get the book because Superdad and I had seen a special about it on Sunday Morning and thought that Carl Warner was pretty amazing because of his talents with food.  I have a food talent but mine is edible and I’m sure that Carl’s artwork is edible but it’s too pretty to eat.

A World of Food
Discover Magical Lands Made of Things You Can Eat!

About the book
Carl Warner is a professional photographer known for his miniature landscapes made entirely from edible ingredients. A World of Food presents 12 of his amazing pictures, each one showing young readers what the world might look like if there were only a single color. “Yellow” is a desert made of pasta palm trees, cereal sand, and swiss cheese pyramids, while “Orange” features pumpkin cottages, carrot trees, and apricot leaves. Playful verse accompanies each image, guiding viewers through the pictures and inviting them to figure out the various foods used (which are all identified at the back of the book). This is a wonderful book about colors and creativity for parents and children to look through together and discover the many different foods that make up Warner’s fantastical world.

About the author
Carl Warner, a professional still life and location photographer based in London, has worked in advertising for 25 years. His food landscapes have become an Internet sensation. He and his wife have four children.

This book is amazing to see what beautiful pictures can be made from food!!!  I think all children will have fun, like mine did, naming all the food that was used in each picture!  I even had fun naming all the food in the pictures!!

Here’s the Sunday Morning clip so you can see firsthand how one of these pictures are made step by step.

**I wasn’t paid to post this and the opinions expressed belong entirely to me, Michelle Lee.  I was sent this book for FREE so that I could tell you call about it.**
