Big Day For Me
I wanted to make the night extra special so beforehand I typed up a speech of sorts to read to my table to express how 2011 was for all of us and how much we have to look forward to in 2012. I kept getting all weepy and didn't think I was going to make it through but I did. I wanted my friends to know how special they are to me and I hope I managed to do that.
Today is a big day for me. I've been writing for as long as I can remember, way before there were computers in every house, when I used paper and pen. I used to write poetry and keep a journal throughout my life. It was nice to have things on paper for me so blogging came pretty natural once I got the hang of it. I've been blogging since 2004 and have loved every bit of it! WOW, since 2004. That's a long time if you think about it since there are so many other blogs out there and it's nice that I've kept some sort of audience this long. Thank you!
Over the years I’ve toyed with the idea of writing a book to see if anyone would want to publish it. I have a larger manuscript based on The Adventures of Supermom blog but I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe it can be something I can pursue later if time allows but the past year I’ve written two manuscripts that will be perhaps made into books for children. There’s one of the manuscripts that I’m rather fond of because I always tell the babies stories to get them to go to sleep if they are restless and I have one of those stories on paper. Baby M was having trouble sleeping so I made up a fun story and instantly knew I had to get that on paper!
I’ve been talking to people and checking out publishing companies and guess what. My first manuscript is in the snail mail as I type this.
It’s super exciting to think that I could be a published author in 2012! Now, that is something to look forward to! Or in three months I could get my first rejection letter and then I would just try another publishing company. I’m thankful that my family and friends are very supportive of my news and even last night when we toasted, we toasted to that manuscript!
Wish me luck!
