It's a question that has been brought up several times in our house over the years. Then you have to think about what kind of dog do you want? It's a tough decision that requires everyone to be on board. Weeks ago we knew of a litter that had been born and we had decided to pick a male from the group to bring home.
Remember this picture I posted? That sweet baby boy puppy. Yes, you can say, "awwwwww".
Then I happen to find a one year old dog needing a home of the same breed. I had set my mind on her and really wanted to give her a home but Superdad wasn't feeling it. He really wanted us to bring a puppy home to watch grow and be around the kids. I was so hurt because he really didn't want the other dog. I cried a lot but I think a lot of it was having the hysterectomy and placing my feelings onto a dog since I wasn't able to have any more children. Makes sense to me.
They say everything happens for a reason because this morning I get an email with new pictures of the above puppies. Aren't they the most beautiful puppies you have ever seen???? Out heart just melted over them so we picked one out and we have already sent our money to reserve our puppy.
This is our beautiful little girl. She's a beautiful chocolate brown with a white belly. We are just so excited about welcoming her into our home. I'm nervous! What am I going to do with this little bitty bundle of joy that will poop and pee in my house until she is fully potty trained????? ha ha With a face like that I don't think I'll care when she does at this point.
Next comes the hard part. Naming her. We aren't going to let the babies help in the naming department because I refuse to have a Tinkerbell, Jasmine or Dora running around the house. Nope, not going to happen. So far Emma is at the top of the list.
But that could change by the time she comes home.
PS. The kids don't know yet because we don't want them asking one million times a day when the puppy gets to come home. Shhh....
