The making of Echinacea Vodka

Singing:  B O L O G N A ....

There's nothing like a bologna sandwich to take you back to your childhood.  Add some mayonnaise and you are in childhood heaven.  Right?

With school out you'd think the kids would give me lots of new blogging material.  Sadly, they aren't.  Don't worry.  There's still time for them to embarrass themselves soon.

I've been crocheting, sewing and making echinacea vodka for Christmas gifts.  Yes, I am that good.

Here's the echinacea vodka process.  I searched through several different recipes and picked one I liked since I was using fresh echinacea flowers from my garden.

Echinacea Vodka

1 ~ Pick some of your beautiful echinacea.  I picked all three of my varieties.
Echinacea Vodka

2 ~ Cut off leaves and flower heads and wash in warm water.

Echinacea Vodka

3 ~ Chop up and place in sterile glass jar.

Echinacea Vodka

4 ~ Add vodka.

Echinacea Vodka

5 ~ I will shake this every day and then strain the flowers off in two weeks.

Echinacea Vodka

This homemade tonic will be perfect for a few assorted Christmas gifts this year.  I want to make two more batches after I buy more vodka.  I will buy enough to take a few shots during the process next time.

I'm obsessed with Bob Saget.

Really I think I am.   I'm obsessed with Bob Saget.

I'm not sure exactly when it started.  Or why?  But it has!!!!!  I had this dream about him a week or so ago and it's stuck with me ever since.

No, we didn't have sexual relations in this dream.  He was just there.  It was nice.

I think he hugged me.

So, I've decided to add Bob Saget to my HOT MEN LIST!!!  Right up there with David Muir and Superdad.

I wonder if I can email Bob Saget now???  He's on Facebook.  Hmmmm...

Supermom stalks Bob Saget.  WWBD?  What Would Bob Do?

It's a ?!?!?!?

Boy or a Girl.  We aren't sure what our new child is just yet.  We are excited to welcome our fifth child into our crazy life!!!  So far, it's been pretty easy since we found out.  I'm just so blessed!!!!

Words cannot describe how excited the kids were when they found out.  They were jumping up for joy arguing over who gets to name the new addition.

We still haven't decided on a name but I will let you know when we do.

I'm leaning toward naming he/she Phil.  I think it would suit he/she perfectly!

You didn't think I was talking about being pregnant now did you??  ~evil laugh~

There's still hope for that but until then I will name the furry critters that live in our yard.

PS.  I'd like to thank 1800flowers.com for the beautiful flowers they sent me today.

A Day in My Life ~ June 26, 2010

Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?

I was all worried about eggs shells and hair that I wouldn't let anyone in a 10 foot radius of me or the cake!!

You got what I need.....

I have no idea why those song lyrics are going through my head but they are.  I started singing them when I was in the tub.  UGH!!!!!!!  That drives me batty!!!!

I've been laying low in this awful heat!!!!  Just AWFUL!!!  Torture!!!!

I almost wanted to venture to the pool again today.  Almost.  It wasn't so bad the other day.  I was pleasantly surprised.  At one point Baby M went underwater while playing and we had to pick her back up.  I'm sure it scared her to death but we were clapping and cheering her own so that she wouldn't be afraid.  That was it for playing in the pool.  She got out and played in the grass for the next 1 1/2 hours.  I was able to sit in the shade and watch her play.  Not bad at all.

This is my cool Supermom picture.  Too cool for words.  Yeah, right.

Happy kids playing.

Nope, not having it, no way in hell am I getting back in that pool.

I hate to admit it but I look forward to going again.

I've got news to share.

I have my first paying gig in making a cake.  I usually just make them because I want to make them.  It's my thing.  This time I actually took their wants and made a design and putting it into place for a special 13th birthday party this Saturday.

They want a fun zebra cake.  Here's what I got:

Pretty cool huh???  I'm going to use black buttercream fondant to make the cool zebra stripes.  I think I will make A Day in My Life photo series for Saturday as I make the cake.

I hope it turns out as pretty as my drawing.  Or better!!!

It's nice that my life is getting back to normal.  Really nice.

It's that time again!!

Bathing suit wearing time!  Totally sucks huh??  I wish I were more comfortable in a bathing suit.  It's funny even as a teen I felt insecure in a bathing suit.  I had a smokin' hot teenage body and still didn't like wearing a suit.  I'm guessing that is normal for all girls.  I see how my teenage daughter reacts to wearing a suit and trust me, she looks fabulous in one!!!  Makes me want to walk around covering her up with a towel.  I give men lots of evil looks when they watch her at the pool or when we are on vacation.

Bunch of pervs.  Said with a laugh!!!!

So, today will be the first time I am forced, yes my arm is being twisted, to sit at the public pool for two whole hours.  I said that was as long as I was staying in 91 degree weather chasing two babies.

To only weigh 128, I feel like the 28 pounds are in my midsection.  Really, I do.  No amount of sucking it in will hide the fact that I have had babies.  Four wonderful babies.  HOPEFULLY FIVE ONE DAY!!!!!!

I wish I didn't feel this way but I do.

It also means I have to shave, wax and tuck in my pubic hair into my bathing suit bottoms as well.  UGH!!!  The things we do to look presentable.

Heaven forbid a curly pubic hair sneak out for all to see.  ~shaking head~  No, I do not shave it off!!! Remember my "Save The Bush" campaign!!!  Be proud of your pubic hair!!!  Just don't show it off in a bathing suit because it doesn't look so hot.  Really, if you have it, tuck it in!!!!!

This totally bites.  The public pool with kids.  Please please two hours pass by really quick!!!!!!!

This would be a good time, seriously, for a kidney stone!!!!!!!

There you have it.

It's been a week since the dreaded kidney stone caused so much pain and havoc in my scheduled life.  I hate when that happens.  It really is a pain in the ass.  Or side.  WHATEVER!!!

Let's see.  I've been medicated.  Drinking gallons of Gatorade!!!  GALLONS!!  When you drink that much you should just set up camp in the bathroom because that is where you stay.  On the toilet.  Lovely, huh?

In my medicated haze I crocheted and made my Christmas List.  Yes, I know it is June BUT I've made a promise/goal this year to make my gifts again for family and friends.  I don't remember if I've blogged about this yet, remember I have been heavily medicated the past week.  I grew echinacea just to make some echinacea vodka.  I am also making make-up bags and face towels for the women in the family.  I bought zippers yesterday.  Cool huh?  For the kids I am making stuffed animals.  I made one and Baby M stole it.  I make another and Lil O took it.

I take it they love them.

Crochet Bear

Yes, I know it's missing eyes, she took it before I finished them.  I have since added eyes.  :)

Saturday we celebrated my Mamaw's 80 years of life with champagne, Japanese Food and my homemade Carrot Cake.  It was an awesome time.  I am so blessed to have my Mamaw.  She is in fact my hero.

This is my Mamaw crying because we were all singing Happy Birthday to her!!!!

You know I must have been really medicated to suggest a walk around the neighborhood because I don't go on the walks with them.  I use the time for ME.  But, I did take my camera.  I'd like to thank my neighborhood for not kicking me out of your yard while I took random photos of your flowers.  Thank you!  They turned out wonderful!
