Crocheted Baby Sweater

I bought this great yarn last week with the hopes of making the beautiful sweater on one of the yarn wrappers.  Only to get home and realize it's for a KNITTED sweater.  I don't knit.  I found a conversion website.  Didn't work.  I am here to tell you that you cannot convert a knitting pattern to a crochet pattern.  It didn't work for me.

So, I started OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I had an idea of how I wanted to put it together.  Making it all one piece basically.

Then you fold it in half and sew up the seems.

I really wanted it to be an infant sweater but it came out bigger than I had hoped.  That will take some tweaking!!!  I want to  make this sweater for newborns and have matching booties to go with it.  At least now I have a pattern to go by!!!

The sweater is toooooo small for Baby M and she was in no mood to be my model but I wanted to see it on a small person!!!

I like the sweater and the design is good and simple, not a lot of "fuss and feathers" which is great when you're in a hurry or want to show off the yarn.

I say, if you can afford it, buy one of those life-sized dolls to try items on. They don't move, won't squirm, are available night and day w/o complaints, and, above all, don't grow up and ask you for your car keys.
