O. M. G. Make it stop!!!!!

How do you explain to an 11 year old and 14 year old to not ARGUE with a 4 year old??????

I am always telling them, I mean screaming, to stop ACTING like a 4 year old. Lil O doesn't understand sarcasm. She isn't getting what you have to say. You arguing with her is only make you look like a 4 year old.

They aren't getting it. It seems like all I ever do is fuss! Stop that. Stop this. Leave her alone. Stop talking to her that way! HUSH!!!! No hitting!! No running. No jumping on the couch. No jumping off the couch. Let your sister go. WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Did you hear what I said??? Are you listening to me??? HELLOOOOO?!??!??!?!?!

Really, none of my kids are paying me attention. Do you have any tips? I have decided that no more spanking for Lil O. It really doesn't work. What example am I showing her? Thanks Mrs F, I clapped really loud and hard yesterday and she was like "HUH".

No, how do I get her to listen?

Yes... but did you feel better after clapping? It's a good stress reliever.

Superdad needs to take supermom on a date night. I don't have any ideas. You know I'm not a mom. I've always had puppies so all I could suggest is creat training. But I don't creat train my animals so that is a bad suggestion.

Hey there have you treid time out for Lil O. Have a special rug for that reason or a special chair. Set a timer for every yr of her life that is one minute in chair or rug. After she is allowed up discuss what she did wrong and have a positive reward like a jar. Everytime she does something special or good behavior she is allowed one treat from the jar. No big deal maybe smarties candies, a quarter for bank, a little cheap toy from dollar store. Its all about the bribe lol good luck

Once you have made a decision, stick with it. Don't give in to the whining! Of course, be careful about your decisions. It can be hard to withstand the assault of a persistent 4 yr old. I like the crate training idea, too, ha-ha.
OMG! My kids ignore me all the time, but when Super Dork (aka the hubby) steps in, they're perfect little angels.

'Yes sir'
'No sir'

I have all boys (two teens and 7 y.o. twins), and they really only respond to my husband.

It gets VERY frustrating! Especially when they're being lil' S*%#s all day, right up until Dad walks through the door.

My kids think it's funny to watch their mom 'lose it.' I throw my hands up in the air and proclaim, "I'M NOT TALKING JUST TO HEAR MY HEAD RATTLE!" That's a very common statement around here, too. However, it doesn't phase them.

I have a 3 and a 5 year old and I ask the five-year-old to find a nicer way to say the same thing to her brother.

Like instead of "Stop", she can figure out to say, "I don't like it when you do that."

Usually I say, "When he does what?"

And she finishes by saying, "I don't like it when you step on my shoe."

You probably started with this idea, but it usually works.

WOW!!! Thanks for all these comments!!!

We need to come up with a toddler boarding school!!! I think that would be the best bet!

Joking, of course. Okay, maybe not! HA HA!

Toddler boarding school good one Michelle. How about a camp for mommies where we can go for the entire week. No phone calls from home allowed no matter the emergency, unless its life or death. I could use a nap, horse ride, arts and crafts, cooking classes. Spa like setting of course and of course half dressed men serving me drinks by a pool, and drawing a bath for me at night with candles and wine. Now that is the life sounds like a winner to me. MOMMY CAMP WOULD ROCK

OMG! Count me in on the boarding school! LOL - Ya know mine are so different! Krystal and Sterling both will start crying if you look at them cross - at all - I dont even have to threaten a whipping. Roman on the other hand - you could beat him unmercifully and he DOES NOT care - he will suffer whatever punishment and then go right back biz as usual - im dreading his teenage years! UGH! Can we do a teenage boarding school as well?!
