It’s not really stealing, is it?

Happy Friday!

Ok, here’s the story. Our neighbors moved out for a 8-10 month renovation of their house. AND They are currently in China adopting a baby. They have LOTS LOTS of blooming tulips in the yard. I have been trying for two days to get HB & B2 to go pick some. They wouldn’t. Wusses. So today I bring it up to my daughter and guess what?

I have 2 beautiful vases of flowers!!! Thank you H!!!!

Not much going on at my house. Weekend is finally here and I hope to get the swing set up and swinging tomorrow. I hope that everyone has a wonderful night!

DR WHO STARTS TOMORROW. Which means Sunday, I’ll be watching the new start of the season episode!!!! That’s worth getting excited about! I’d more excited if it were CE playing the part.

Anyway….off to enjoy my ’stolen’ flowers and think about dinner.

Mydoula What?

When my client would take to her mom she referred to me as “My Doula”. So the mother was wondering who “Mydoula” was and why her daughter wanted her there. I thought it a cute story that the mother thought that was my name. So, I will always be her “Mydoula”.

Now it is later and I can write.

I can just say it was a wonderful birth. The baby was born last night and very healthy! I can only hope the rest will be as wonderful as this.

I came home TIRED and this morning I an very sore. I used muscles I forgot I had. LOL Maybe some that have never been used!

I went up to see them this morning and will make a home visit 2-3 weeks from now.

I hope that everyone has a lovely Tuesday. I keep thinking today is Monday since it seems like I lost a day.

The Call Has Come

I meet my clients at 7pm at the hospital tonight.

Going to take a nap and shower.

Just got home from buying a swing set and taking a walk with HB & O.

Bathing Suit Shopping Sucks

Yes, that time is near. To think about weekend trips, vacations, taking the kids to the pool…….and buying a bathing suit. Somehow I got out of it last year! Hmmmm….how did I do that? Oh, I know! I wore the I JUST HAD A BABY one from the previous year that one weekend we were out of town. Thankfully I didn’t get into a pool at Disney. I didn’t even pack one!

Anyway…with Spring here and the talk is about what to do with the kids. I think it has been decided to hit Six Flags in GA over spring break weekend. Make it a long weekend of shopping, good food and the amusement park! Only problem is we’d have to leave really early Sunday morning because B2’s birthday party starts at 1 at Chuck E Cheese. Hubby says not a problem. lol
My point: On this weekend trip I’ll have to venture out into the hotel pool with the kids. *Insert big sigh here*

So, last night I started online shopping for an idea of what was out there. I thought I’d get a look then go shopping for one with some ideas. After looking, looking and looking some more. I ordered one! I know that is risky since I really didn’t know what size to buy. They had size charts and with the help of my HB I estimated the size! It was comical. SO after my measurements I took the plunge and ordered one from Norstrom. I noticed most stores didn’t carry ‘I’ve had three children and really want to cover the kangaroo pouch carrying them gave me’. I was looking for a nice 2 piece with a long tankini top. (I never liked 1 pieces with my long torso.) Most of the ‘cover your body’ suits had a skirt or shorts. Come one, we still want to feel feminine and look sexy sitting by the pool rubbing lotion on our kids and keeping them from drowning. As the young girls walk buy wearing 3 triangles of very tiny fabric. (As we smack our husband for watching them walk by.)

The good thing about ordering it is, there is a Nordstrom in Atlanta so if I need another suit I can exchange it at their store. I guess I’ll know in 5-7 days if it will fit.

Anyway—enough crap bathing suit talk!

Yesterday we ran a few errands and ordered take-out. So much for me getting outside things done.

Let The Countdown Begin

My bestfriend is planning a trip here in April and of course they stay with us. We call our house the Beaver Lake Bed & Breakfast. They will arrive on the 19th and stay until the 22nd. MJ is my bestest friend. I even have a picture of us together in the “Family” section they were here for New Years. Anyway…I love it when MJ and her handsome hubby come stay.

Things I accomplished yesterday:
Set up for retreat
Grocery Shopped
Walked around neighborhood
Mopped House
Laundry
Cross-stitched on project

Chicken Noodle Soup

Anyway… TGIF!!!

No baby yet. The training Doula Retreat starts today so I am going to help set up in a couple hours. Then I might hit the grocery store.

It’s going to be in the 70’s today. AWESOME!

Not much to share. I am finishing up a cross-stitch project I started last year. It is a family tree for my sister. All that is left is outlining the whole thing and adding the names. I’ll post a pic when it is finished.

Happy First Day of Spring!

I have been running errands today! No baby yet.

Not many thoughts/things I want to share at the moment. I am just waiting for this baby and looking to spring planting! I was up until 1 am just thinking of things to plant. How to fix the back yard. Getting a swing for the kids and a bench swing for me. Grass to grow…..

Anyway…dinner tonight at my grandmothers. She is making her homemade spaghetti sauce with has so much garlic in it you can see it floating around. And then I’ll smell like garlic for 2 days! Just what I need! LOL

Good Morning

Yesterday was busy busy and then busy some more.

I really did obsess over the sweater and didn’t move from the couch until I had it DONE! The sweater requires 3 buttons on the neck to be able to slip it over the head. So I went to the ‘button box’ that has millions of buttons in it. No exaggeration. I used to play in this box at my grandmothers when I was little and would even string them to make necklaces. Later on in life I asked her about that box and she actually gave it to me. So it brings back great childhood memories. Anyway…I found 3 beautiful purple buttons from the box and added them to my sweater. :) Creating more memories.

The yarn I used was 100% Merino Wool (50 g/ 175yds/ 160m)

I bought the yarn at Yarn Paradise for $12.25 a skein. So there you have it

After that I went to my dads for a couple hours. He made some yummy burgers and hot dogs. I was on edge just waiting for my client to call. But no call. I even missed a baby shower because of it…lol But I do have 2 sick kids–so I guess it all worked out. I did call my clients when I got home and there was no answer–I hope this meant she was out WALKING! LOL

Well, I am off to play the role of loving mom! HAPPY SUNDAY!

I have to run and shower so we can walk out the door in a hour. I have been obsessed and working on the sweater. IT IS FINISHED!!!! Here is a picture of O being totally uncooperative!

411 missed calls ?

Today my birthing mom is due! How cool is that??? I guess the anxiety is sinking in because I dreamed last night that I looked at my phone and I had missed 411 calls!

So I have been double checking my cell all morning. I am going to enjoy another cup of coffee and shower just in case I get the call today!

I finished a sleeve last night and half-way finished the second one. I will post a picture in a little bit. BBL.

The Orange Bags of Salvation

I really really love it when I venture out of the house and come across those orange trash bags on the side of the road. Along with old tires. Makes me think the world hasn’t been forgotten about. Someone actually cares. (I know it was probably the prison, holding guns on men to pick it up—but don’t pee in my cereal.) My vision is much better–people caring what the furture holds and making the world a better place for our children/grand-children. Sooooooo, when you see those orange bags think of what you are doing to improve the world.

I just spoke with my client. No baby today. I offered suggestions and hope that in a few days, I’ll get another call.

I am off to relax and enjoy my kids. Toodles.

Looks Like Rain

Which I could have predicted since I washed the car yesterday. I didn’t physically wash it myself. I went through one of those laser washes. It looks much better

I have really enjoyed the beautiful weather. The kids have been outside and taking walks around the neighborhood. They have been jumping on the trampoline like crazy. O loves it too. She’ll say ‘bouncy’.

I am in the planting mood. I have found some really nice sites about container gardens. So, I printed out the lists of what would do best in a pot and when the time comes, I’ll go shopping. I need pots, dirt and plants. EXCITING! Not to mention FLOWERS! I need colorful flowers to plant as well.

Anyway…..time to think about getting ready. Time has slipped up on me and it is almost lunch time and then I go get the kids from school.

As I sit here and look at a list my soon to be 13 year old gave me. Apparently she wants to change her screen name/email address. Yes she has a cutesy name. A name that a sweet innocent girl made to email her friends from school/family. Let me give you a couple off the list.

Today I am planning my garden that I want to start in the next few weeks. I am mainly interested in things I can plant in huge pots around the yard. If anyone has suggestions and things that they have tried themselves…please let me know. I am making a list of things I want to plant in the next few weeks.

Well, have a great day. I am off to do things. REST being one. My back hurts more today that it did yesterday. Oh well….

Something for Moms.

I play with the idea of writing a silly humorous mom book. Last night I was going through what I had typed up and thought I would share with you part of it. Please feel free to comment on what you think about it.

Adventures of a Stay at Home Supermom

Yes I can really cook dinner, read a book, paint my toe nails and feed the baby all at one time. A mother will be nodding right about now reading what chapter one is about. Being a Supermom means being able to multi-task every single day. It is amazing how we nurse a baby, read a book, help with homework and actually cook dinner. Without messing anything up. It’s rather comical watching a man try to do the above. Seriously men can only do ONE thing at a time. My husband will be holding the baby and actually ask me to get something for him. Shocking isn’t it? Not really if you think about it. I still wonder why that is though. I believe that when men are doing their ONE thing, they go into ‘the zone’.
For example:
Men watching TV=la la la I cannot hear you.
(Unless they hear the word sex.)
I think that one word stops any average man in his tracks. Sometimes…
Example 2:
Men on computer=la la la I cannot hear you.
Yes honey I am watching the baby he says. HA! He was busy watching TV or playing on the computer that he hadn’t noticed the baby had left the room and creating a masterpiece with crayons all the way down the hall.
If I had just said SEX he’d be awake.
Enough about men. Back to me because after all I am the author.
Being a Supermom means my day is all about multi-tasking. Just to prove I carried a notebook with me all day and wrote details about my day. Everything that I done and some things I forgot to do.
Shall we begin?
My day started at 11:30 pm which is odd because I just went to bed a few hours earlier. We had a missing pacifier so I had to help find it. Couple hours later it got lost again. Damn pacifiers…. The third time I just picked the baby up and her pacifier and brought her back to bed with me.
We woke up around 8ish. This was really nice because that is sleeping in for us. I get up and have my morning bathroom visit. This is usually the only time I am alone in the bathroom all day. Then I make my way into the kitchen to start water for coffee and oatmeal. When that is going I go back to my bedroom and make my bed. Then I go to my oldest daughter’s room and make hers. UGH, she is so messy. I open windows and turn off night lights as I go. If I have enough time I go ahead and make my sons bed. I did this morning.
I then head back to the kitchen to my boiling water. Make a quick cup of instant coffee and instant oatmeal. To make me feel better I add fresh blueberries to the oatmeal. I then start strawberry waffles in the toaster oven for my daughter and fix my son a bowl of cereal. While the waffles are cooking I clean the table and get the recyclables ready to be taken downstairs. By this time everything is ready and the oatmeal has cooled off for the baby to eat. Everyone sits down and eats as I feed the baby in her highchair.
After everyone is done I make my way into the living room setting out toys to get the baby settled (too late she has decided to follow me around instead of play with her toys or watch TV) and straighten up the room from the night before. Then I clean up the dining room table and make my way into the kitchen. Whew, I am tired already.
I go and turn on my computer. Move the baby back from the TV and put one of her hair bows up where it belongs. Find my coffee and sit down.
I was actually able to sit down with hubby and finish my coffee. Today is a bonus day because it is a holiday and he doesn’t have to go to work. I love holidays!
Our time was brief. The oldest came in our room to talk. So we talked to her. Then I got up and helped her pick out some clothes then I walked to son’s room and picked him some out. I get help from my 12 year old daughter in picking out my clothes. We wear our matching shirts and skirts. You have to look pretty for a holiday.
**Changed first diaper and dressed the baby**
I have to iron my clothes because linen will wrinkle if left in the dryer for a day or two. This reminds me that I have clothes in the dryer to come up.
I actually have the bathroom alone and sneak in a quick bath so I can shave my legs. Since I have to wear a skirt today. My husband ends up coming into the bathroom and we talk while I shave my legs. I left the baby with the oldest to entertain so I could put on what little makeup I wear and fix what little hair I have.
POWER TO THE WOMEN WHO WEAR THEIR HAIR SHORT!
Wahoo found time to sneak and check my email and go to the sites I visit everyday.
Go to search for the baby. Found her in big sisters room, dancing.
We leave to run errands. Office supply store. Clearance store. Grocery store to shop for the cookout we are having this afternoon.
Return home. I start loading the dishwasher while I fix lunch. I heat up leftover pizza from the night before and fix son a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. As lunch is heating up I put up the groceries, clean up the fridge and run hot water to put in the babies pool.
Enjoy lunch with my family.
Lay the baby down for a nap after hosing her off from lunch. Clean up her mess and pick up the dining room and clean the kitchen. Again.
Head downstairs so the older kids can play in the pool. I set up two chairs. One for me and the other for my husband. Before I am able to sit down to relax I come up with a genius idea to fix the pool. It has begun to sag on one side. That is what a Supermom does after all.
Then I realize I need chap stick so I venture back upstairs for that and some lotion. Go back downstairs to my chair. As I watch the kids play I make put a menu/plan for our cookout.
Time for a baby check so I come back upstairs. The couch looked so inviting I ended up taking a nap too.
This is very rare for me. I have no time for naps.
I am gently tugged at to watch the spaceship being launched then I go back into my slumber. Wow, how long did I sleep? I am not sure. I missed the rain we got though.
When I finally make myself get up I head for the kitchen. I have food to prepare. My oldest wants to help so we start on food. I had garlic butter to make. A sweet syrup to poor over the pineapple. Vegetables to prepare. So much is going on in my kitchen.
Then the baby is up.
**Second diaper change for the baby**
I am busy in the kitchen that I let the oldest take the baby out to play in her pool. Naked pool playing!
Hubby gets the grill going and I throw on a few things that have to cook before the meat can be put on.
(Fast forward through the grilling out part.)
During a beautiful dinner I have to leave and give the baby a bath. She is done and is going to start throwing the food off the tray. So I get up and take care of her. While she is in the tub, I pick up in my room. Put away a few clothes that are laying around. After the bath and get her in a clean diaper. NUMBER 3 and realize there is only one diaper left. I look in her drawer for some clean pj’s. Then I think back to those clothes in the dryer. This t-shirt will do.
We go back to join dinner already being cleaned up. I enjoy the rest of my dinner cold. A mom is used to cold food. So it was no biggie. Hubby is loading the dishwasher for me. BONUS! I clean up the dining room and get it back together. I even put my ‘fancy’ place-mats back down. I finish up in the kitchen and then I sit down and talk to my company. (Hubby’s mom came down to our house in the part I fast forwarded though.)
We sit around and watch the kids play. Nice visit indeed.
She leaves and I eat a few spoons of ice cream. YUMMY! Then I sneak a quick shower so I can put on clean pajamas of course.
After I get out and can manage things my husband leaves to do a few things. In that time I check email again and send out pictures of our holiday together to my friends. The baby is with me so I play her some music so she can dance.
**DIAPER NUMBER 4 IS USED**
When hubby gets back he gets ready to take the kids to see the fireworks. I stay home because I am putting the baby to bed just when they are walking out the door.
So this is where we stop. The house is quiet and I am typing up my day from the notes I took during the day. Everyone is home now and it is time to brush teeth, turn down beds and tuck everyone in for the night.
I still haven’t gotten the clothes from the dryer–there is always tomorrow. I guess….
